Palo Alto — The Palo Alto Unified School District presented its 2025 summer projects list at the June 17 board meeting, summarizing capital and maintenance work planned across the district.
Facilities staff said the summer portfolio includes major capital improvements such as the Hoover Elementary rebuild and new library buildings at Greene and JLS, significant renovations across Gunn and Paly campuses, HVAC phase‑two electrical work at seven elementary schools in preparation for fall installations, roofing and exterior painting projects, field and landscape upgrades, a new transitional kindergarten playground at El Carmelo, playground replacements at Almondy and Barton Park, and added shade structures at Addison and Fletcher. Custodial deep‑cleaning and standard maintenance work are also under way.
District staff told trustees they will continue to monitor projects and provide a formal status report at the August board meeting.
What happens next: the facilities office will proceed with summer schedules and report construction and maintenance progress to the board in August.
