Planning Commission approves final site plan for Live Oak Elementary with drainage exemption

The commission approved the Live Oak Elementary School final site plan for a property at Colms and Old LA Highway 16 and accepted the applicant’s request for a DISIS (drainage impact study) exemption.
Landon Wolf, with Melind Taylor, said the project proposes a new building, the relocation of an existing playground and would result in a 0.15% increase in impervious area. He said the project met the exemption criteria and provided a drainage plan to show how drainage would be handled. Planning and engineering staff said their comments had been addressed and recommended approval.
Commissioners voted unanimously to approve the final site plan with the exemption (Mr. Clemens, Mr. Wax, Mr. Dana, Mr. Burns, Miss Ferris, Miss Long). Staff will retain the drainage documentation and monitor final construction and permitting steps.
