He said, “we are not increasing the impervious area. So we have requested drainage exemption for the non increase and not having to do a drainage impact study.”
Engineering staff and planning department representatives stated their comments had been addressed and recommended approval. Commissioners clarified the parish’s exemption criteria — that an exemption can be granted when there is no increase in impervious area — and noted final site‑plan approval and any subsequent drainage details would be monitored in the permitting process. The commission voted unanimously in favor (Clemens, Wax, Dana, Burns, Ferris, Long).
Next steps: the applicant will return for final approvals when prepared; engineering and planning staff to record and monitor the drainage exemption documentation.
