Commission approves change‑of‑use site plan for On the Go Buildings; applicant will reduce impervious area

The Livingston Parish Planning Commission on March 10 approved a preliminary site plan to repurpose a former inspection sticker/Denim Springs site for the sale of portable buildings under the business name On the Go Buildings.
Thomas Johnson, representing the applicant, introduced the change of use. Jenny Cowuette, who identified herself as “the registered agent and CFO for Denim Springs Surgery” and the registered agent for On the Go Buildings, explained the applicant owns three properties at the location, is shifting intended uses among them, and is reducing impervious area by almost 600 square feet as part of the change. Cowuette said one small building (about 20x24) will remain as a sales location; another parcel will be cleaned and held as vacant land for now.
Engineering reported all review comments had been addressed and recommended approval. Commissioners asked about existing structures; Cowuette described a 20x24 building and remaining slabs where prior houses stood. The commission approved the preliminary site plan by unanimous roll call (Mr. Clemens, Mr. Wax, Mr. Dana, Mr. Burns, Miss Ferris, Miss Long).
Next steps: applicant to proceed with final approvals and permits as required.
