At its Dec. 6 meeting, the Bellmawr Borough Council unanimously adopted Ordinance 01125, creating the position of purchasing agent, and approved a consent agenda of routine resolutions and appointments.
The mayor introduced Ordinance 01125 ("ordinance creating the position of purchasing agent"). The council moved, seconded and approved the ordinance on a roll-call vote with all members voting yes.
Council members then approved a consent agenda that included a series of resolutions numbered in the 01-0125 through 01325 range. The council also approved multiple personnel appointments by roll call: Carol Cary as senior coordinator; Francine Wright as affirmative action officer pursuant to N.J.S.A. 11A:7-6 and separately named as human resources director; and Patrick Galler as recycling/solid-waste coordinator.
A group of professional-services agreements covering solicitor, auditor, prosecutor, public defender, bond counsel, labor attorney, general engineer, architect, computer consultant, planner and tax-assessor services was read into the record and authorized by the council.
Separately, the council approved a temporary budget for 2025 and awarded a contract to AC Schultz for the redevelopment of well number five in the amount of $94,500. The roll-call approvals recorded unanimous yes votes for the items presented.
Councilmembers approved the December bill list at the meeting and the mayor announced a post-meeting reception at Dominic's Tavern before adjourning.
