Senate adopts resolution honoring Coach Van Compton’s 51-year career

Coach Compton addressed the chamber, thanking players, colleagues, family, University of Arkansas at Little Rock, Lyon College and local youth program Little Rock Juniors. “This work has been the greatest blessing of my life and I thank you and I will always cherish it,” Coach Van Compton said.
Senators signaled their approval by voice; the presiding officer recorded the resolution as adopted. The resolution recognizes Compton’s contributions to women’s sports in Arkansas and congratulates her on her retirement and Hall of Fame induction.
The resolution was read into the record and adopted; no further action was required.
