Senate recognizes Nucor Day as company representatives tout local jobs and investment

John Hadid, who identified himself as the general manager at New Crystal, Arkansas, said the group represented "over 2,300 teammates in the state of Arkansas" and expressed pride in the workforce. Senator Wallace and the company representatives cited several figures during remarks: that Mississippi County accounts for roughly 13% of the nation's steel production, that the company has spent about $5,000,000,000 in Arkansas upgrading facilities over the past five years, and that average pay for teammates is "above $100,000." These figures were stated by speakers on the floor and not independently verified in the session.
The resolution text recognizes Nucor Day on April 15, 2026, and directs that a copy of the adopted resolution be transmitted to the company's chief executive officer.
