C4 approves minutes, schedules retreat; legislative update warns of tighter transportation funding

Legislative outlook: A county staff member summarized the legislative session and warned that state budget pressure will reduce available dollars for some transportation programs during the coming biennium. "You should expect a couple of years of hard budget times for state agencies," the staff member said, and noted that preservation-focused programs were being prioritized so some programs such as safe routes to schools and Connect Oregon will see reductions in the near term.
JPAC and Metro: JPAC updates included Metro's permit compliance work and a status note that a separate, Washington-state-led high-speed rail planning effort has federal funding for a planning phase but remains early in development without a committed alignment.
