County enters executive session on Leadville sanitation mill-levy error and proposed fire-IGA; no decisions announced

The Lake County Board of County Commissioners voted to enter executive session March 3 under Colorado Revised Statutes CRS 24-6-402(4)(b) and CRS 24-6-402(4)(e) to receive legal advice on two matters: an identified error in the mill levy that impacts the Leadville sanitation district, and a proposed intergovernmental agreement (IGA) on fire protection services.
Before entering executive session the chair certified the subject matter was protected by attorney-client privilege and the board stopped the electronic recording for the closed portion of the meeting. On returning to open session the board disclosed that Patrick Smith and Mark Wadsworth were present for the mill-levy discussion and that the IGA discussion included the county commissioners, the county attorney, the county manager and the assistant county manager. No official decisions were announced in open session.
The board did not take votes in open session related to either matter and said staff would continue work consistent with legal advice. The county did not release further detail about the mill-levy error or the substance of negotiations on the fire IGA at this meeting.
