Local activists urge Warren County committee to accelerate town-level renewable energy projects

Collins highlighted small-scale, off-grid solar systems and battery storage that can run household essentials during outages and told the committee that, in New York, “off-grid portable systems need no permits.” She left informational handouts for members and offered volunteer collaboration with county staff.
The committee acknowledged Collins’ remarks and did not take formal action on the request during the meeting. Collins identified fellow activists who may speak in future meetings: Lisa Adamson (Indivisible ADK Saratoga Climate Team / Queensbury Climate Smart Community Committee) and Chris Holey (Third Act Upstate New York).
