Hillyard City Council on March 9 approved a professional-services agreement with 2LMN, Inc. to design the Davidson Road shared-use path and bridge modification after staff reported a construction grant award of about $1.2 million from the Ohio Department of Transportation.
Staff described the project as replacing a narrow 4-foot sidewalk over I-270 with an 8-foot shared-use path to connect Raindrop Way (formerly Lyman Drive) to Truman Boulevard and improve pedestrian and bicycle safety. The city estimates design costs at roughly $26,000 but sought authorization of up to $150,000 in 2026 with additional design funding to be included in the 2027 capital improvement budget; staff said construction is likely to occur in spring 2028.
Council approved Resolution 26-R27 on a roll-call vote. Staff will return with a finalized professional-services contract and schedule design milestones.
