Council OKs 50/50 agreement with Perimeter CID to fill sidewalk gap on Peachtree Dunwoody Road

The Sandy Springs City Council on March 17 approved a cost-share agreement with the Fulton Perimeter Community Improvement District to construct a sidewalk on the east side of Peachtree Dunwoody Road, filling a gap left by previous interchange projects.
Public Works Director Marty Martin described the project as a companion to earlier Transform 285/400 work and said the total estimated cost is about $400,000. Under the proposed agreement, the city and the Perimeter CID would each cover approximately $200,000. The CID agreed to lead design work and the city will administer the construction contract when design is complete.
Council members approved the resolution by voice vote with no discussion. Staff said the project will connect existing path infrastructure to improve pedestrian access along the corridor and will be coordinated with federal-transit-funded projects in the area.
