The Kern Council of Governments Transportation Planning Policy Committee voted to approve two regional funding packages on Feb. 19.
The final Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAC) program of projects includes about $29 million for 18 projects across member agencies, staff said. The Transportation Technical Advisory Committee recommended approval; the committee approved the CMAC package on a roll‑call vote.
The final Regional Surface Transportation Program (RSTP) package includes about $31 million for 21 projects. TTAC recommended approval and the committee approved the RSTP package on a roll‑call vote.
Both items were presented by staff and passed without recorded opposition during the meeting. Committee members conducted roll‑call votes after motions and seconds. The staff report contains project‑level listings for agencies and the transportation technical advisory committee recommended the funding lists for both programs.
What happens next: Agencies whose projects are in the approved lists will proceed with local steps and procurement; project sponsors should consult the staff report to confirm programming and next steps in the FTIP and delivery schedules.
