Staff said some projects will be advanced in the first bond sale and that sequencing will try to limit disruptions to athletics and school calendars.
The board approved lease‑leaseback preconstruction services and selected Excel Construction (with preconstruction/manufacturer Timber Quest) for Golden West classroom additions; staff explained the lease‑leaseback method permits evaluation of contractor experience and capacity rather than selecting by price alone. Staff noted DSA site and pad requirements that could affect final GMPs and that a guaranteed maximum price will be submitted to the board when available.
Board members asked for transparency and a public bond website; staff said they will publish project lists, COC information and progress updates as projects begin. Staff also said they are pursuing state reimbursement where possible.
What happens next: The board will receive GMPs and project schedules for each tranche; staff will solicit and review COC applicants and begin priority procurement and DSA submittals.
