House refers multiple bills to committees and adopts consent-calendar resolutions

The Clerk announced first readings and committee referrals for several Senate bills and House items. S.179 (Uniform Disclaimer of Property Interests Act) was read and referred to the Committee on Judiciary. S.212 (potable water supply and wastewater system connections) was read and referred to the Committee on Environment. S.227 (creating immigration protocols in Vermont schools) was read and referred to the Committee on Education.
On the notice calendar the House referred House Bill 558 (Medicaid School-Based Services Program), which carries an appropriation, to the Committee on Appropriations pursuant to House Rule 35a. The Committee on Ways and Means also reported favorably on House Bill 937 (miscellaneous judiciary procedures); because it carries an appropriation the bill was referred to Appropriations pending notice-calendar placement.
The House took up JRS 45, a joint resolution relating to weekend adjournment on March 20, 2026, and adopted it in concurrence with the Senate. Members then heard readings of three House Concurrent Resolutions adopted pursuant to the consent calendar: HCR 187 congratulating Village Garage Distillery of Bennington on a silver medal at the 2025 San Francisco World Spirits Competition; HCR 213 recognizing March 2026 as Social Work Month; and HCR 224 congratulating athletes representing Vermont at the 2025 National Senior Games and designating March 18, 2026 as Vermont Senior Games Day at the State House. Members introduced and welcomed guests associated with those resolutions.
