Lenor honors Parks & Public Properties Division as Main Street Champion

The City of Lenor recognized its Parks & Public Properties Division and its staff—led by Public Works Director John Hogan and division lead Jeff Holland—as the municipality’s 2025 North Carolina Main Street Champion for downtown revitalization efforts.
At its March 17 meeting, the Lenor City Council recognized the Parks and Public Properties Division of the public works department as the city’s 2025 North Carolina Main Street Champion for contributions to downtown revitalization.
Mayor noted the award and asked Public Works Director John Hogan and division lead Jeff Holland to accept recognition on behalf of the seven-member team. Hogan thanked Main Street and praised public works staff; Holland emphasized the award is the team’s achievement. The mayor also acknowledged volunteers and Main Street committee members Glenda Floyd and Ashley Smith for nominating and supporting the group.
The award will be presented again at the downtown awards ceremony next month; the council took no formal action other than recognition.
The recognition highlights the department’s ongoing downtown maintenance and beautification work, including seasonal plantings, sidewalk upkeep and recent installation of anniversary banners and wayfinding art signs.
