At its June 24 meeting the Marysville Joint Unified School District board approved several fiscal and planning items: the district’s 2025–26 Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP), the Marysville Charter Academy for the Arts LCAP, the federal addendum (required under ESSA), the district’s proposed 2025–26 budget, and Education Protection Account resolutions for both the district and the charter.
Lori Guy presented the district’s Local Performance Indicator self‑reflection and reviewed LCFF priority areas including teacher credentialing, curriculum access, facilities repair status (the presentation noted 21 sites met fair but not the 'good repair' threshold), curriculum implementation status (district staff reported full implementation for ELA, ELD, science and history/social studies; mathematics was described as in initial implementation aligned with upcoming adoption work), family engagement and school climate survey methods. Eric Preston presented comparable local indicators for the charter school and noted staffing effects on some indicators.
Trustees voted to adopt the LCAP and the proposed 2025–26 budget. In debate earlier in the meeting union representatives and trustees raised concerns about public access to attachments in BoardDocs for item 14.1; trustees asked administration to correct public‑side visibility and agreed to a requested study session to examine the budget and multi‑year projections.
Trustees also approved Education Protection Account (Prop. 30) resolutions stating those funds will be used for instructional purposes for both the district and the charter, as required by state law.
What happens next: Staff will schedule a study session to provide the deeper budget review requested by trustees and bargaining units and will provide access to the underlying documentation referenced during the meeting.
