Carl also confirmed the replacement at the dog‑park site would be a 2‑inch‑caliper locust.
Board members volunteered for specific responsibilities. Noah Sakamoto agreed to help with logistics and event setup and to reach out to Bonfire for flyer placement; Dan Bullock offered to print flyers, coordinate refreshments and contact the town newsletter and local paper; Joanne said she would liaise with KDNK and attend the proclamation; Leslie agreed to help with transport and tent setup. The chair said she would consolidate assignments in the planning guide and circulate them by email for follow‑up.
On a formal motion, a member moved to “accept staff’s recommendations for a locust tree at Hendrick’s Drive near the dog park.” The motion was seconded and approved by voice vote; the board recorded the outcome as approved.
For Dandelion Day, the board agreed to staff a booth, use a tent that Carl offered from public works, and distribute materials Carl obtained from the National Arbor Day Foundation (pencils, tattoos, decals, wristbands). Members emphasized public‑education materials and a short FAQ or “cheat‑sheet” explaining local tree‑care basics, emerald ash borer identification and defensible‑space considerations. Noah agreed to meet Carl to draft talking points and a concise FAQ the board can use at both events.
Carl told members the Chos Park landscape plan remains under staff review and that he will provide a quarterly staff report at the April meeting. The board closed the meeting after a final procedural exchange and adjournment.
