The Red Bank Historic Preservation Commission on Jan. 21 reappointed Lou as chair and approved its slate of officers and committee rosters for 2026.
The commission voted to reappoint Lou as chair after a nomination from a member; Marjorie Cavalier was approved as vice chair and Shauna was confirmed as board secretary. Members also approved a nomination for the board attorney. Members recorded votes in the affirmative during the roll call procedure.
Commissioners approved the commission’s 2026 meeting calendar, set for the third Wednesday of each month with no regular November meeting unless a special session is required. Members said dates were cross-checked against holidays and other scheduling conflicts.
The group confirmed memberships for standing committees. The Minor Works Review Committee will include Liam, Lou and Paul Kagno; Karen Schmemell was nominated for the River Center liaison role and the Historic Sites Committee was set to include Karen, Anthony Satero and Marjorie Cavalier.
Commission staff noted that legal notices have a new posting requirement: notices must appear on a borough-designated legal-notices page and, when the state site is ready, will be posted there as well. The commission maintained its historically used official newspapers — the Two River Times and the Asbury Park Press — for printed legal notice distribution while the web requirement takes effect.
The meeting adjourned after the agenda items were completed.
