Council authorizes wastewater contract, reinstates assistant city manager and approves consent items

The board authorized the city manager to execute a contract with Harper General Contractors to rehabilitate clarifiers at the wastewater treatment plant. Staff presented the resolution and commissioners voted to adopt it.
The board also voted to reinstate the assistant city manager position on a late agenda item. The motion carried; the transcript records Commissioner Bridges as opposed to that action.
The consent agenda — including acceptance of the December financial report, approval of meeting minutes from January and the appointment of Jane Delbeck to the Historic Preservation Commission — was approved as presented.
What’s next: City staff will proceed with contracting steps for the clarifier rehabilitation, and human resources/staffing steps will follow to fill or reclassify the assistant manager position per the board’s action.
