The Farms and Water Pollution Control Authority opened a public hearing March 11 on the proposed 2026–27 sewer operating budget. The Secretary read the notice saying the proposed residential user rate would be $377 per year and the commercial user rate $327 per 100 cubic feet for calendar year 2026, a 3% increase from the current budget year.
The notice also states that annual sewer service charges for elderly congregate housing units and town-owned affordable housing units will be billed as commercial accounts for the building cycle, and that sanitary sewer assessments for 2026–27 will remain unchanged. Example assessment bands were read into the record during the hearing.
No members of the public offered comment during the hearing; the chair closed the hearing and opened the regular meeting. A motion to accept the February 11, 2026 minutes was made, seconded and approved by voice vote.
The authority did not take a final vote on the budget at the March 11 meeting; the hearing record is on file in the town engineer’s office and the town clerk’s office at Farmington Town Hall, according to the notice.
