During the May 6 special meeting the Moriarty-Edgewood School District board approved two business items: purchase of a replacement maintenance truck with necessary equipment and a one-year authorization to the district’s current audit firm after only one firm responded to RFP 81-25-01.
Staff said the prior maintenance truck had been totaled in an accident and that the replacement vehicle at the local dealership could be fitted with the district-required toolbox and lift gate quickly if the board approved purchase. The board moved, seconded and approved the purchase.
On procurement, staff said the RFP for audit services received a single response — the district’s incumbent auditor — and recommended a one-year engagement while the district cycles procurement to meet statutory rotation rules; the board approved the recommendation.
Ending: Staff said they would finalize purchase paperwork for the truck and proceed with contract documents for a one-year audit engagement, returning to open competition at the statutorily required interval.
