Barnica Argaw, the Bayonne High School student government representative, told the Board of Education that students attended a leadership-training conference over the summer and have been active preparing for the new school year.
Argaw said five student leaders attended the NJC LTC leadership training and that student government held freshman orientation on Aug. 27 and selected three freshman ambassadors. She said student government resumed meetings on Sept. 10 and began planning homecoming events: a dance in the main gym on Oct. 11 and related activities leading up to a homecoming game on Oct. 17.
The student representative emphasized efforts to welcome new students and noted a focus on communication and delegation skills learned at the conference. The report concluded with thanks to staff and students and encouragement for a successful school year.
