The teacher described past practice of receiving individual alarm codes and being responsible for securing classrooms without incident and asked why the district would limit access. "When are we expected to prepare for student instruction?" she asked, arguing that contractual prep time is insufficient and weekend access had been used for preparation without prior problems.
Superintendent Stocking and other staff did not provide immediate reversal at the meeting; trustees said they had received emails on the subject and would follow up with staff to clarify the policy and the rationale. Trustee Delgado and others urged staff to respond to teachers and said the board had heard the concerns and would route them to the appropriate administrative offices for follow‑up.
The board did not take formal action on the issue at the meeting and asked staff to report back with clarification of the policy and any options for teacher access.
