Nelson urged residents to look for opportunities to give back, saying, "Every citizen can make a difference," and praised local people for the community spirit that, he said, makes Cedar City a desirable place to live. He said the series will include stories and principles he finds important to the founding of the country and to maintaining community values.
Nelson closed by thanking residents for what they do and for the opportunity to serve as mayor. The mayor said the messages are part of a "250 celebration year" and reiterated his intent to continue the series throughout the year.
