Board adopts resolution recognizing March 31 as Cesar Chavez Day after student reading and public comments

Trustees moved and adopted Resolution 09-20-2425 by roll call vote. Trustees also thanked student participants for the presentation; a student photo opportunity followed the vote.
The resolution text cited Chavez’s role in founding the United Farm Workers, his commitment to nonviolence and his influence on labor and civil-rights efforts, and it encourages district recognition of his contributions.
Following adoption, trustees encouraged the community to participate in the district’s Cesar Chavez Day family literacy activities.
