Oakdale trustees approved multiple resolutions and personnel actions during the meeting, including authorization for interfund transfers, steps to hold a public hearing and align developer fees with new state levels, adoption of a workplace-violence prevention plan required by SB 553, and approval of a contract for Jose Sanchez as assistant superintendent of Human Resources, effective July 1.
Staff explained the developer-fee item: the State Allocation Board raised Level 1 developer-fee limits, and district staff recommended holding a public hearing on the required 2024 developer-fee justification study and adopting a resolution to increase the fee to align with state levels (presented figures included $5.18 per square foot for residential Level 1). Staff said the notice and projected rates were posted on the district website and the increase would take effect 60 days after adoption to allow community adjustment.
On statutory compliance, Craig Redmond presented the district workplace violence prevention plan required by California Senate Bill 553 (Labor Code section 6401.9), explaining the plan will require staff training and hazard-identification/reporting procedures and recommended board approval. The board approved the plan.
Superintendent and trustees introduced and approved the contract for Jose Sanchez as assistant superintendent of Human Resources; Sanchez addressed the board and said he was “very excited to be here today” and looked forward to serving the district.
The board’s action streamlines a set of administrative and compliance items and completes a scheduled hiring step for the HR leadership position.
