McCall — City director of public affairs Erin Greavves presented the city’s fiscal-year annual report to the council, summarizing organizational achievements and challenges and proposing improved alignment between the annual report and the budget process.
Greavves highlighted organizational advances in financial controls, a 92% employee retention rate reported by HR, and $4.6 million in grant funds secured across departments. She also highlighted adoption of the city’s first climate action plan, strengthened interdepartmental coordination, and progress on housing-management efforts and local-option-tax funded transportation improvements.
Council members discussed whether to better synchronize the annual report, the budget and a proposed public "state of the city" narrative to reduce duplication and improve public clarity. City staff suggested producing a budget annex that includes goals and a shorter white-paper style retrospective rather than a heavier magazine-style annual document, to reduce staff workload and better align with the fiscal-year budget cycle.
Greavves said the document will be posted to the city website after council feedback and will be used to inform outreach and the upcoming budget-retreat schedule.
