McCall — The City Council approved two grant submittals on March 12: a Capital Matrix application seeking up to $25,000 to support economic analysis of McCall’s tourism economy and destination management work, and a U.S. Tennis Association grant application (up to $4,000) for equipment at the high-school-area tennis courts.
Delta James, economic development planner, said the Capital Matrix grant would augment scope in the city’s comprehensive-plan work and would fund a deeper data-driven look at visitor numbers, event impacts and destination-management strategies; the McCall Chamber of Commerce has pledged $2,000 in matching or supplemental funds over two years to support the work. James described the tennis grant as a small, no-match award to buy equipment such as shade for benches, replacement nets and windscreen material used by recreation programs.
Council approved submittal of both grant applications and authorized the mayor or delegated staff to sign necessary documents; both motions passed unanimously (5–0).
