Staff member Mattie explained the schedule for community council reappointments and new applications, noting that letters of interest for expiring terms are due next week and that applications for all expiring terms and vacant seats will open on April 1 and close on May 1 at 3:00 p.m. "Applications will remain open for 30 days," Mattie said, and added that applicants will receive interview times and that interviews are open to the public to observe.
Mattie said current members will receive emailed requests for letters of interest and that the staff will include all council members on interview scheduling so councils can provide feedback via a staff survey rather than during interviews. After the interview period, recommended appointments and reappointments will be placed on a commissioner administrative meeting agenda for formal action.
The meeting also included a reminder about annual board training set for Tuesday, March 31 at 2:30 p.m. in Cooper Room B at the Missoula Public Library; staff emphasized the value of attending in person while confirming the session will be recorded and available online.
On finance matters, staff described a treasurer's guide and an annual budget reporting form to help councils track spending and prepare an October/November public report after budgets are adopted. The guides and templates will be distributed by email and staff offered individual help for councils that need it.
