Saratoga County Law and Finance Committee approves routine resolutions, accepts grants and schedules hearings

On March 11, 2026, the Saratoga County Law and Finance Committee approved a slate of routine resolutions that included proclamations, contract amendments, grant acceptances and several budget transfers, and set public hearings on an agricultural district amendment and a proposed county property lease.

The committee proclaimed April 2026 as Child Abuse Prevention Month (theme: "pinwheels of possibility") and April 19–25, 2026 as National Crime Victims' Rights Week, and recognized Public Safety Telecommunicators Week (April 12–18) and April as Youth Month and Donate Life Month in Saratoga County. These proclamations were presented by the committee chair and adopted by voice vote.

On public-safety contracts, the committee approved an amendment to the county's agreement with Saratoga Hospital to cover laboratory and morgue facilities usage that has exceeded the contracted amount; the amendment was said to bring outstanding bills current. The committee also amended Resolution 387 of 2025 to authorize a seven-day patrol schedule (instead of a five-day schedule) for law-enforcement services in the town of Malta.
