The board also adopted updates to the student transportation regulation to add prohibited items on school buses and approved an amended staff conduct exhibit to include nicotine among prohibited items.
The board voted to delete an older staff tobacco policy (GBED) because the new consolidated policy (ADB/ADC) supersedes it. Trustees also approved small cross‑reference additions to discipline policies for both professional staff (GCQF) and support staff (GDQD), tying discipline language to the newly adopted ADB/ADC provisions.
All items were approved by voice vote after second readings. Board members said the changes were largely compliance actions to align local policy with state law; no substantive controversy or public opposition arose during the meeting.
