A councilmember moved to appoint "Brian Hawker" (name used on the motion) and the motion was seconded. The council voted, recorded in the minutes, as four to zero in favor of the appointment. Immediately afterward, an oath of office was administered; the person taking the oath stated a name aloud during the ceremony.
Council held a brief photo opportunity and then moved to other agenda items. Staff indicated orientation and onboarding would be scheduled for the new councilmember.
Note on transcript inconsistency: the motion recorded a particular nominee name while the subsequent oath recorded the appointee saying a different personal name during the oath.
