The Richland 02 Board of Trustees approved a series of executive-session items during its March 24, 2026 work session, including student placement and admissions, employment recommendations and the consent agenda.
Miss Porter moved to approve an appeal placing student number one at Lifewood Academy; the motion, seconded and read back for the record, passed unanimously. Mr. Trap moved to approve admission requests for two individuals into the district adult education program; that motion also passed unanimously. Mr. Gary Dennis moved to approve employment recommendations and certified releases as presented; the board recorded a unanimous vote in favor.
Earlier in the meeting the board unanimously voted to convene an executive session to consider student appeals, admissions, employment recommendations and personnel matters. Following executive session members voted to end the closed session and resume public business.
All actions were recorded in the public minutes and read back into the record before each vote. The board also approved the consent agenda for the March 24 work session by a unanimous vote.
The board did not discuss the details of executive-session deliberations during the public meeting beyond the formal readbacks and recorded motions. More substantive discussion, including the board’s later vote on proposed professional-position eliminations, occurred in public session after the executive-session votes.
