Harford County holds hearing on $60,000 match for Lufco’s $15 million Aberdeen expansion

Miss Holt presented a public hearing on Resolution 00526, asking the Harford County Council to endorse county support for Lufco’s planned expansion at Aberdeen Technology Park. Holt said the company will invest approximately $15 million to renovate a roughly 73,000‑square‑foot, formerly vacant facility and that Lufco now employs about 100 people with projected new hires of roughly 120 positions tied to the expansion. She said the Maryland Department of Commerce is offering a MEDAF (Advantage Maryland) conditional loan of $600,000 and that the county’s proposed matching grant would be $60,000 to support critical infrastructure upgrades.
Andrew Lboro, introduced in the hearing as Lufco’s chief operating officer, thanked the council and said he is a lifelong Harford County resident and that the company is pleased to invest locally. Holt said the site, a repurposed technology center in the Aberdeen Technology Park, will focus on advanced manufacturing for microelectronics and support defense and government clients. Councilmember Mr. Danger spoke in support of keeping the business in Harford County and praised the company’s local partnerships.
The public hearing closed with no members of the public registered to speak; the council will take a vote on Resolution 00526 at its March 17 meeting. No final action was taken at the March 10 session.
