The Holland City Council unanimously approved a multi-item consent agenda that included minutes, easements, public-hearing scheduling and participation in the national opioid settlement (item 4U). Council member Freeman moved to approve the consent agenda; Council member Raymond offered support and a roll-call vote recorded all members voting yes.
During discussion, Council member Shea spoke specifically about item 4U, the opioid-settlement funding acceptance. Shea said he supported accepting the settlement funds but urged the city to allocate the money to expand crisis-intervention services: "I'd love to see that funding be... going to adding more in the way of crisis intervention," he said.
Brenda read the consent items aloud at the start of the meeting, which included rezoning, utility easements, festival contracts, service-bid awards, liquor-license renewals and the Tulip Time and Fourth of July permits. The council did not remove any item for separate consideration and the motion to approve passed on a unanimous roll call.
No amendments or substitute motions were recorded. The council moved on to public comment after approving the consent items.
