Teresa Anderson of MSA presented an update on the Lasalle Phase 3 wastewater project and filed two contractor payment requests for the WWTF Forcemain and Lift Station work. Alderperson Pete Olson moved to approve Application for Payment No. 6 from Market and Johnson for $459,879.37; Alderperson Mo Tollman seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
Alderperson Keith Kolpack then moved to approve Application for Payment No. 7 from Market and Johnson for $505,609.86; Alderperson Joe Johnston seconded and the council approved the motion unanimously. The payments together total $965,489.23 and were recorded as approved in the minutes.
The update from MSA outlined contract progression and prompted the council to act on the two payment requests; no recorded objections or conditions were entered on the motions. The council did not specify additional contingencies or retainage in the minutes. The approvals follow the council's routine contract-administration process for public works projects and were entered on the consent of the majority of alderpersons present.
The city engineer/consultant (MSA) remains the project contact for construction oversight. The council's next steps noted in the minutes were routine payment processing and continued project oversight; no separate vote to change contract terms or scope was recorded.
