Superintendent announces community health fair and summer program schedules

The superintendent also reviewed summer program end dates: the rising kindergarten literacy program and summer arts institute concluded July 23; several camps and programs (CTE summer camp, newcomer and multilingual learner programs, ESL enrichment, and Apex learning) end July 30; JROTC and a joint orientation end July 31; youth athletics and high‑school sports camps conclude in early August. The district will publish school‑specific welcome letters the week of Aug. 18 with back‑to‑school night and schedule information.
Additionally, the city is hosting a free immunization event on Aug. 25 at 418 Palmer Street by appointment for eligible sixth‑ and 11th‑grade students; the district will share flyers and targeted communications to families with Medicaid or without insurance.

The superintendent emphasized using PowerSchool to monitor students’ attendance and academic progress and urged parents to engage with the district’s communication channels.
