Forest Park council approves liquor-code amendment, multiple resolutions and entertainment licenses
Summary
At its Aug. 8 meeting the Village of Forest Park council approved an ordinance amending the liquor code for patios and entertainment licenses, authorized bids for alley improvements, ratified a water-tower change order, and granted several entertainment licenses and park- and banner-use requests.
The Village of Forest Park council on Aug. 8 voted to adopt an ordinance amending the municipal liquor code and approved a series of resolutions and licenses affecting public works, a water-tank contract and local businesses.
The council adopted Ordinance 0-32-22, which amends sections of the liquor code covering patio/beer garden and entertainment licenses. Commissioner Maxam moved the ordinance and Commissioner Burns seconded; a roll-call vote recorded ayes and the ordinance was approved.
The council also approved a resolution dispensing with the reading of individual bills and authorizing payment of aggregated department amounts (identified in the meeting record as resolution r-6722). The clerk read department totals and a stated aggregate total of $22,700.26 as presented. The motion to approve was moved by Commissioner Burns and seconded by Commissioner Maxam; the vote was recorded as ayes.
On infrastructure matters, the council voted to approve specifications and authorize advertising of bids for the Village of Forest Park 2022 Alley Improvement project (resolution r68d22). Commissioner Nero moved the resolution; Commissioner Maxam seconded and the body approved it by roll call.
The council ratified change order number two to the contract with TP Incorporated for rehabilitation of the North water-tower tank project (resolution r-69d22). The motion was moved by Commissioner Nero and seconded by Commissioner Maxam; members recorded ayes.
The council approved entertainment licenses for three applicants: Exit Strategy Brewing Company, the American Legion, and Le Pal. Each license was moved and seconded by commissioners on the floor and approved by roll-call vote.
The Forest Park Public Library received approval to use Veterans Park for a "story time in the Park" series spanning September through November; the banner request from Forest Park School District 91 was also approved.
The meeting concluded with a motion to adjourn moved by Commissioner Nero and seconded by Commissioner Burns; the adjournment passed on a roll-call vote.
All votes were recorded as ayes in the meeting transcript; no recorded nays or abstentions were announced during the session.
