The Ceres Planning Commission on a 4-0 vote recommended that the City Council adopt the initial study and the 2023'1031 housing element of the General Plan, forwarding the recommendation to the council for a hearing scheduled March 24.
Consultant Kylie Pope of EMC Planning Group told the commission the housing element is required by state law and must identify how the city will accommodate its Regional Housing Needs Allocation (RHNA). "The city has been assigned a total of 3,361 housing units for the 2023 to 2031 planning period," Pope said, and the city's site inventory totals about 3,673 units.
