Kim Mosley, president of the Chamber, said an illness in a small chamber staff prevented last year's issue from being printed on schedule and requested the council allow the completed content to be printed now without additional funding. "It's not about asking for additional funding, but just about the flexibility of the schedule," she said.
Council members questioned whether two glossy issues in close succession served the public interest or whether the contract's five‑year term and publication cadence should be revisited. Council Member Meadows and others said they would prefer either a single catch‑up issue or a later discussion of contract terms rather than approving back‑to‑back printings. City staff and the city attorney confirmed tonight's agenda item was a limited extension request rather than a comprehensive contract amendment.
Because council members were not ready to adopt the resolution in its current form, no motion to pass the item prevailed tonight.
