They said they have submitted an encroachment permit application, are coordinating traffic direction with law enforcement and county staff, and plan to cap entries (organizers cited a likely cap near 300 total participants split between the half‑marathon and 5K).
A local resident asked that organizers cancel the event if trails are too wet in October; organizers said they will monitor conditions and keep community safety in mind.
The motion to approve was moved by Council Member Fleming, seconded by Council Member Fernandez, and passed by roll call 5-0.
