Willard council elects leadership, names clerk and mayor in unanimous votes

David Sattig was elected president of the Willard City Council in a unanimous roll call at the council’s Jan. 5 regular meeting.
Council nominated and approved the governing body's officers and leadership for the year: Jacob McKenzie was elected president pro tem; Rebecca Wyandt was approved as Clerk of Council; Bridget Tipton was approved as Clerk of Council pro tem; Joseph Daniel was approved as Mayor; and Alan Babcock was approved as Vice Mayor. Each nomination passed by unanimous roll call votes of the seven councilpersons present (Babcock, Danhoff, Daniel, McKenzie, Olson, Sattig and Vanichek). The Law Director administered the oaths of office where appropriate.
The leadership votes formalize roles for the council after swearing in four ward councilpersons earlier in the meeting: Joe Daniel (Ward I), Jacob McKenzie (Ward II), David Sattig (Ward III) and Timothy Vanichek (Ward IV). The Clerk called the roll at the start of the session.
Council did not attach conditions to these leadership appointments; votes were recorded as yea for all members present. The meeting proceeded to other regular business after the officers were sworn in.
