Chickasaw County awards limestone supply contracts for Project M-2026
Summary
Following bid openings on April 6, the Chickasaw County Board awarded division one of the limestone contract to BMC and divisions two–four to Brooming Rock Products, with combined low bids totaling about $1.94 million, within the county estimate.
Chickasaw County opened bids April 6 for the Chickasaw County Limestone Reserve (Project M-2026) and awarded supply contracts by division after staff review.
Two bidders submitted bids. Staff reported BMC as the apparent low bidder for Division One while Brooming Rock Products (BRP) provided the low bids for Divisions Two, Three and Four. The combined low-bid total for the divisions selected totaled approximately $1.94 million, roughly 99.66% of the county’s estimate and within the budgeted amount for contract rock.
County staff recommended awarding Division One to BMC and Divisions Two–Four to BRP and asked the board to authorize the chair to sign contracts when prepared. The board approved the recommendation and authorized the chair to sign (mover: Travis; seconder: Steve).
Staff noted that the awards will deliver the requested tonnage and that contract documents will be returned for signatures. The county will proceed with contract execution and scheduling of deliveries by division as specified in the bids.
