The Fuquay‑Varina Town Board voted on April 7 to adopt an annexation ordinance for a 2.9‑acre parcel at 6475 Hilltop Road owned by TJ Holmes LLC.
Planning Director Davidson presented the petition for voluntary annexation (ANX 2026‑01), saying the parcel is noncontiguous, that town water and sewer service are available, and that a nearby fireflow test showed adequate flow. The Planning Director told the board the present total value of the properties being annexed is $330,748.
The public hearing was opened and, with no members of the public speaking in favor or opposition, the board adopted the annexation ordinance by voice vote.
The annexation ordinance will extend Fuquay‑Varina’s corporate limits to include the parcel and enable the town to provide municipal services to the site. Staff recorded in the meeting packet that sanitation and recycling services are available and that the town clerk previously certified the petition met North Carolina General Statutes requirements.
Mayor William Harris and Planning Director Davidson led the hearing; there were no speakers in opposition and the motion carried.
The annexation will be on the agenda again as required if additional procedural steps are necessary and the town will record the ordinance and related documents in the official town records.
