The City of Monona Finance and Personnel Committee voted April 6 to award the 2026 street resurfacing contract to the low bidder, Pace & Dolan.
Public works staff (Dan) told the committee three bids were received on March 26 and Pace & Dolan submitted the low base bid of $341,994.50; staff also requested an alternate bid for resurfacing Kathy Thomas Circle priced at $15,720. Dan described project components, including a mini reconstruct at 100 Quail Run Drive to replace the roadbed and paving work on Broadway West Service Road, and said pavement markings will be billed back to the developer where applicable.
When asked how the bids compared to the capital budget, staff said the prices came in about $14,000 below the estimate and that the city’s portion of the capital impact is just over $250,000. A motion to approve the contract award was made, seconded and carried by voice vote.
