Residents press for water-quality update and local food-security planning

Administration responded that the borough is awaiting the next deliverable from consultant H2M as part of an agreed phase of work and that staff has requested a follow-up meeting to establish a date for an update. "We're waiting still the results of that phase and that's part of the agreement that we signed on to with H2M," the administrator said, adding that staff needs time to catch up to the point of scheduling the next public update.
Separately, Katherine Hartman, a social worker, asked the borough to prepare for a possible disruption to SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits by exploring more accessible local food-collection or distribution options for residents who lack transportation. Council members noted the borough already maintains a year-round donation bin in the municipal foyer that is collected regularly for the Center for Food Action and rotating partner organizations, and suggested forming a committee to plan additional measures.
Council asked interested residents to meet with staff (Tatiana or Miss Kelly) to identify needs and resources and to coordinate with county partners. No formal commitments of funding were made at the meeting.
