Village administrator warns of rising West Nile cases; water-rights work and October executive session announced

She also provided recent COVID-19 hospitalization metrics and recommended residents consider flu and COVID vaccinations ahead of the holidays.
Administrator Curry reported the Harvest Fest will include 114 vendors and said the local government investment pool (LGIP) balance is approximately $4,097,924; the administration noted interest-rate shifts from 5.31% (last August) to 4.35% this August. Curry also summarized ongoing work with a team of experts to inventory wells and water rights ahead of an intended purchase and said the Office of the State Engineer requires a 40-year water plan for any transfer; the council will hold a closed executive session on Oct. 14, 2025, to discuss the water-team’s work in more detail.
Why it matters: The West Nile numbers are an immediate public-health signal for the region; the water-rights work feeds directly into a large planned loan/ordinance and the village’s long-term water planning. Residents were urged to time vaccinations and to stay informed.
