Board approves termination and appoints interim superintendent to begin July
Summary
After closed session the board approved termination of employee #9026 effective March 5, 2025, and voted to appoint Dr. Brian Zakowski as interim superintendent for July 1, 2025June 30, 2026; Mr. Carter recorded an abstention on the appointment.
The North Brunswick Township Board of Education took two personnel actions after returning from closed session.
Dr Patel moved to approve the termination of employee number 9026, effective March 5, 2025. A roll-call vote recorded all members voting yes and the motion passed.
Dr Patel then moved to appoint Dr Brian Zakowski as interim superintendent for the 12-month period beginning July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026, and to approve the previously submitted employment contract. The board stated the contract had been approved by the Middlesex County Executive County Superintendent of Schools. On the roll-call vote, Mr Carter abstained due to a family conflict; all other members voted yes and the motion passed.
The board adjourned following the actions.
