The board authorized staff and the district’s construction partner to proceed with preliminary guaranteed maximum price work and related site‑lease/sublease tasks for the Aviara Oaks Middle School modernization project.
Eric Dill told trustees the project has completed a design concept and is now in construction‑document development; the district is awaiting Division of State Architect (DSA) approval. Advance authorization allows the contractor to coordinate with architects and the site to ensure constructibility and to prepare for a final guaranteed maximum price once DSA approval is received and the project is rebid if needed.
Trustees approved the resolution unanimously, with staff noting demolition of portables planned over winter break to accelerate the schedule should DSA clear the project in early spring. The board will review the final GMP when bidding concludes and plans are finalized.
